Margaret Sawyer was a member of the Mayflower Society of Maine and the First Congregational Church of Gray. A great passion of hers was the Gray Historical Society. She was very knowledgeable about the history of Gray and devoted many hours to the Society.
Margaret received the Gray Lifetime Service Award in 2002 and was also recognized by the State of Maine for her many years of dedicated service to the town. In her video she talks about the life and the history of Gray.
